DRY NEEDLE FELTING
All the works in this folio are dry needle felted on woven woolen backing.
Various fibres and threads are used in the yarns felted to the woven backing.
The top five works are the result of a very wet road trip down the highway to Melbourne
and a misty early morning at the start of the return trip.
The last five works in this folio are inspired by views of the
early morning sun through the tree outside the artist's dining room.

Early morning fog rising up around the trees in the landscape creates a wondrous
sense of ethereal space, and reveals the rhythms of hills and valleys
viewed briefly as the artist travels past in her vehicle.

The artist made a weekend visit to a vineyard where rose bushes bloomed at the end of each row of grapes.
Free association of the beautiful reds and pinks of the roses with images of the processing
of the ripe grapes for wine were the beginnings of this felted work.
