AQUEOUS table runner.
This one in a series of experiments with procian dye and fabric paint.
The desired result was the depiction of the spatial qualities of water.
White cotton fabric has been hand procian dyed as a base.
The second layer is splashes of fabric paint.
The third layer is couched, procian dyed knotty yarn.
The fourth layer is more fabric paint.
CUSHIONS - experimental silk screen prints, pieced, appliqued and quilted. Two are raw edge applique with quilted sheer fabric as the top layer.

OPAL BLUETONGE - completed 2007. H 88 x W 47 cms.
This symmetrically patterned table mat is inspired by the colour brilliant blue.
Images of the bluetongue lizard and opals are juxtaposed via original digital embroidery
on commercial printed cotton fabric. Free machine embroidery is used as quilting.
