Shades of sinfulness are a natural part of being human. Seven motifs express multiple facets of each of the seven deadly sins.
Colour, line and texure come together to communicate the multiple facets and
interactions of envy, gluttony, pride, wrath, greed, lust and sloth.
Hand drawn and painted motifs appliqued onto whole cotton cloth background.
All painted with cold wax resist and thickened fabric dye. Heavily free machine quilted with trapunto (raised motifs).

This is one in a series of experiments with appliqued scrap fabric. The pleasure of it is using
every little scrap of fabric the artist can find. The final work is very robust afer sheer on the front
